Upwards Basketball

John James is playing Upwards Basketball this year and I have to say he is one of the best players out there in his age range (however, I could be a little bias!). But he actually looks like he knows what he is doing. He plays every Saturday around 9:00, and he is having a blast playing. This past Saturday, I decided that I wouldn't go because he was only supposed to play one quarter and I just really wanted to sleep in. I got a call about 10:00 from Debbie telling me that he had scored 6 points and was the best offensive player that day (every player gets an award each week). I was so mad at myself for not going to the game. Needless to say, I will not miss another one unless I am out of town.

No Mo Chemo Party

Back in the summer, one of our speech therapist, Joy Bailey, was diagnosed with cancer and she has been taking treatments all year. In January she took her last treatment, so we decided to get together around Valentine's Day and have a "No Mo Chemo Party" to celebrate her finishing her treatments and being cancer-free. Actually, we just used that as an excuse to get together and eat an early supper and talk. We had a great time.
